Drink plenty of water
First of all, drink plenty of water. Refrain from drinks such as light beer, fruit smoothies and energy drinks. These type drinks contain about 100 calories each. Water has absolutely no calories and carbs, which makes it the perfect slim-down drink. If water alone is not enough for you, add lemon wedges or mint leaves. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. It is very good for detoxifying the body, which is exactly what you might need to shed a few pounds.
Eat the right type of food
Another tip, which you should really consider, is cutting out all white grain products, such as bread and spaghetti. This should instantly slim you down in a couple of days. Carbs such as these can cause bloating, especially around the belly area. If you cannot cut down completely, try to eat less by cutting your food intake by at least half a portion.
Maybe it will help if you substitute carbs for vegetables, at least once a week. You need to find a plan that works best for you. Do not starve yourself, as this will not make you feel any better. If you cannot find any, or you might be in a hurry, grab a piece of fruit instead. You need to look for sugar-free varieties, such as salad dressing, mayonnaise and ketchup. Also, a short ingredient list means fewer flavour enhancers and empty calories.
Drink less coffee
First of all, if you are a big coffee drinker, it is best to either drink less, or not drink any at all. Caffeine can cause huge damage to your liver. Your liver uses enzymes to bread down any bad chemicals in your body. Caffeine gives your body that burst of energy and your liver needs to work extra hard, together with the enzymes, to try and break down the caffeine.
